Preliminary plan

A plan that is used to develop milestones or goal markers for team activities related to process improvements. This plan should include every item like key issues to resolve, possible glitches or complications start and end dates, and the like. This step is important in six sigma to insure design margins can be adhered to.

It should contain all appropriate reviews CDR, (Concept Design Review), design reviews, PDR, (Prototype Design Review), and PPDR, (Post Production Design Reviews)

It should contain items such as block diagrams, customer requirements, expected life, process management, and tolerance designs.

You will need to establish items such has acceptance sampling plans, control plans, and an RQL, (Rejectable Quality Level).

Can be documented using a Gantt Chart.
