Process improvement

Enhancement methodology that focuses on incremental changes or solutions to eradicate or cut down on defects or defectives, costs and/or cycle times leaving the main design and hypothesizes of a process or service intact.

With a six sigma plan, this should be a continuous process using methodologies such as PDCA, (Plan Do Check Act) and follow DFSS, (Design for Six Sigma)  tactics.

Can be implemented using tools such as DOE, (design of experiments), PPDR, (post production design reviews), FTA,  (Fault Tree Analysis), Pareto Charts, scatter plots, cause and effects diagrams and Genichi Taguchi's loss function among others.

Also see Process design, PQ - Process Performance Qualification, Process management, and Process map (flowchart).
