Our software is a no frills software
application. We support X
Bar and R
Bar charts. There are also special Line Control
Charts for Cp
and Cpk, (process capability). We have a very unique Distribution/Histogram
chart.
Our software was designed not with the
Fortune 1000 company in mind that has unlimited resources to hire
a lot of very educated people, although it can also be used by
them, but with small business/suppliers that MUST meet Six
Sigma, ISO,
TQM, and/or other Quality
Assurance Systems requirements consultants. Our program was
designed by Jim Winings with guidance from the founding fathers of
Six Sigma.
Our Distribution chart is simple. It plots
and draws a bell shaped curve over the actual data, and then
another bell shaped curve around the specifications. This allows
one to see how far the actual data is from the specifications at a
glance. It also has indicators that show where the end users
selected design margins are in relations to both the actual data
and the specifications.
Refer to the features
page.

How is chart annotation supported, if at all? |
A
|
At the current time our software does not
support annotations. Support for annotations will depend on our
market requirements. In order to provide Total Customer
Satisfaction, we will incorporate it if demand for such is high
enough to justify the cost. |

What data interfaces are supported, both
input and output, i.e., how do we get data sets into and out of
the SPC package. Is there a standard interface to relational

We do programming and consulting to tie
manufacturing systems into our software package for our customers.
We added an import function that will work
with .csv comma delimited files and an export function to export
as a Microsoft Access database file. The export actually just
copies the database file with the correct file extension, (mdb),
for Access.
However, you
can copy the charts, etc. via the {Edit-Copy Special} pull-down
menu. This will allow you to save the chart to disk and use
another software package to print the charts or copy the chart
into the clipboard and paste it into a program like Microsoft like
Word or Excel. You can also export the data sheet as a .csv
comma delimited file.
All the line charts will
copy as meta files or BMP, (bitmap). You can edit the meta charts
in Word. The histogram will copy as a BMP, bitmap file. You can
copy and paste the data from the data list, NOT the tab card, into
Excel, etc.
Because it uses a Microsoft
Access database, you can of course load it into Excel and Access,
and other packages that support Access or comma delimited files.
If you use Access or Excel,
etc. with this program, me sure to make a copy of the database, or
use the export function, before opening it. Not doing so may put a
NEWER JET database object into the database and this software will
no longer be able to open the database. We use an older version of
the database engine for backwards compatibility reasons.
You should be able to use
other software to get the data from the database. However in the
past, using a newer version of Access could make it so that this
software would no longer open it's database. Therefore it is strongly
recommended that if
you want to use Access to get to the data, make a copy of the
database file, or use the export function, and open the copy with
Access. Not doing so will with out a doubt, corrupt
the database.

Are capability
studies supported? |
A
|
There is NOT a Capability Study button. This
software was design to be ran at a production line or an incoming
inspection department. But it could be used for such
studies. |

What are the cost, licensing, and support
arrangements? |
A
|
See the 'Price'
page for cost. If none of these work for you, contact
us and we will find one that does. Support is handled by me.
You don't get a tech support person or a sales person. At this
time, you get to talk to the person that wrote the software and
has had the 'Six Sigma' Training and also has used it in real
time. We feel this is better than other software's support
options. There is also a Support Forum where customers can post or
answer questions and and even stay anonymous if desired. |

How does the package support notification, if
at all? Popup dialog box, email, etc.? |
A
|
At the current time, anyone that purchases
the software and supplies their correct e-mail address will be
notified by e-mail when the next version is ready for him or her
to download. The customer is then directed to the customer
download area where they enter their user name and password.
We only update the .exe file so the updated
version are less than 500k, zipped, to download. If the customer
requires the full install again, about 6 megabytes, then we
provide it at no additional charge.

How well does the package scale? Are there
likely to be problems as the number of parameters tracked or the
number of data points increases? |
A
|
This depends on Microsoft. Our software uses
the 'JET' database engine and we are going to provide ODBC
connectivity sometime in the future. This means that it will
depend on the OEM. However, you can create many different
databases, so you could just limit the number of data points per
database if there is a problem. We have had NO reports of such
problems and testing with several hundred samples
of 5 observations, (using Stratified
sampling), shows absolutely no performance break down. |
|
|
Can you add Pre-Control
limits? |
A
|
Yes you can add 'Pre-Control' limits to the
X-Bar and Range charts. |

|
|
Do you need Access or Excel to use
ZeroRejects? |
A
|
No. ZeroRejects is a stand-alone program. It
does not require any other software programs to operate. |
TOP
|
|
Can you enter only one sample? This is due to
the fact that traditional X bar and R Bar charts must use a
stratified sampling plan. |
A
|
No. |
