Expected life

The length, in time, that any given process or product design, is expected to function within it's given specifications. Should be used in combination with design life. The unit of measurement for design life could be expressed in units of time such as years, hours, miles, cycles, etc.

Products can be tested using an accelerated life test, (ALT) and measured with MTBF, (Mean Time Between Failure).
