Affinity chart or diagram
Tool used to collect large quantities of
data and/or information from many people or places. The ideas are
usually categorized into similar columns. The columns are identified for
a given group of ideas. It breaks a process
or procedure down into groups and/or subgroups, using stratified
sampling to focus the analysis’s efforts on one area at a time. It
groups similar items together instead of listing them in chronological
order.
Typically used as a tool in six
sigma or other process improvement initiatives.
